Français 1A:  Quiz Retakes

 

 

 

 

Guidelines for Quiz retakes:

 

  • Must be completed prior to unit exam

  • Must schedule student/teacher appointment for retake

  • Must re-write ALL parts of the quiz (including correct and incorrect responses), correct errors.

  • Complete evidence of additional studying (activities listed below for each quiz).

  • Attach original quiz, corrected quiz, additional studying and retake checklist signed by parent. Bring to quiz retake.



To retake the quizzes below you must complete the indicated activities:

QUIZ: Unité 4, Vocabulaire de la famille

  • Write out with complete sentences activities 2 and 3 on page 75 of your textbook.
     

Brandon Brown veut un chien

  • Make double-sided notes for all vocabulary for Brandon Brown veut un chien. Study the vocabulary.

  • Go onto Engrade and write out the questions with the correct answer only for each question.

 

QUIZ: Unité 4, ER verbs and Commands

  • Give the meaning and conjugation of the following verbs: passer, dîner, rentrer, assister, visiter, téléphoner, regarder, écouter.

  • Translate the following in French: Speak!, Let's talk!
     

QUIZ: Unité 4, ER verbs

  • Give the definitions and write out the conjugations for the following verbs: demander, échouer, écouter, enseigner, expliquer, trouver.

  • Use each of the verbs above in a sentence in French.
     

QUIZ: Unité 4: Pas de...

  • Rewrite the following sentences in the negative:1) Il a un examen aujourd'hui.2) Vous avez une grande maison.3) Ils ont des livres intéressants.4) Tu as un stylo rouge.5) Sophie a des bonbons.
     

QUIZ: Unité 4, AVOIR and  ÊTRE

  • Conjugate the verbs AVOIR and ÊTRE.  Translate into English for each subject pronoun. You should be able to do this without looking at your notes.
     

Unité 4, Telling time with "À quelle heure" and the 24 hour clock

  • Translate the following into French. Give two different ways of saying each sentence, one using the 24 hour clock and one using the 12 hour clock. With the 12 hour clock remember to use the expression "in the morning" "in the afternoon" or "in the evening."
    --The movie (le film) is at 8:00 p.m.
    --The math class (la classe de mathématiques) is at 9:00 a.m.
    --Lunch (Le déjeuner) is at 1:00 p.m.

     

Unité 4, Telling time with quarter "after", "quarter to" and "half past."

  • Practice spelling "et quart" "et demie" and "moins le quart" by writing each expression  5 times in French and defining once in English.
     

Unité 4, Telling time on the hour

  • Using complete sentences write out the times for each hour of the day beginning with "Il est une heure" and ending with "Il est minuit."
     

Unité 3, Forming yes/no questions

  • Translate the following questions into French (Write the question once using "est-ce que..." and once using inversion): 
    Do you live in Fort Collins?
    Do you travel?
    Does he like history?

     

Unité 3, Negative sentences

  • Translate the following into French:
    I am not singing.
    He is not French.
    They do not speak French.
    I do not like to dance.
    We are not Italian.


     

Unité 3, Present tense of regular -er verbs​

  • Conjugate the verb PARLER and translate  into English

  • Practice spelling the ER verbs found on your verb dictionary handout by writing each word 3 times in French and defining once in English.

 

Unité 2, Les Cours​

  • Practice spelling the school subjects by writing each word five times in French and defining once in English.


Unité 2: Les jour, les mois et la date

  • Write in French the date of your birthday and the birthday of at least five other people (friends and/or family). Give these dates in words not numbers.

  • Practice spelling the days of the week and the months by writing each one 5 times in French and defining once in English.
     

Unité 2 Numbers 0-100

  • Write out activities 1 and 2 on page 96 of your virtual textbook.
     

Unité 2 Adjective Agreement

  • Write out act. 1 on page 26 of your virtual textbook.

  • Write one sentence for each member of your family using a descriptive adjective. (For example: Ma mère est sympathique. My mother is nice)
     

Unité 2 Les nationalités

  • Write each nationality found in the green box on page 27 of your virtual textbook 3 times in French in both the masculine and feminine forms.

  • Get a blank map of the world (from Mme Fischer or on line) write the name of the nationality next to the appropriate country.
     

Unité 2 Être

  •  Write the conjugation of Être five times in French and define once in English.

Unité 2 Les pronoms sujets

  • Practice spelling the subject pronouns (je, tu, il, elle, nous, vous, ils, elles, on) by writing each word 5 times in French and defining once in English. Then draw a picture next to each word to illustrate what it means (stick figures will do!).
     

Unité 2 Les objets et les personnes â€‹

  • Practice spelling the vocabulary of objects and of people (found in the lists in your French notebook) by writing each word  3 times in French and defining once in English
     

Unité 1 Le, La, Les, Un, Une, Des

  • On a separate sheet of paper write out the list of objects found in your French notebook using "un" or "une" with each word and tell what it means in English. Then use "le" or "la" with each object on the list and tell what that means in English. For example:
    un crayon (a pencil)     le crayon (the pencil)

Unité 1 #0-69

  • Practice counting numbers 0 - 60 outloud to a parent. 

  • Write the numbers 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 in French spelling out with letters each number.
     

Unité 1 Vocabulaire de «Bonjour» et «Ça va»

  • Practice spelling vocabulary of «Bonjour»  and the vocabulary of «Ça va» (you should have both lists in your French notebook) by writing each French word 5 times in French and defining once in English.
     

Unité 1: Geography quiz

  • Ask Mme Fischer for an outline map of France and Western Europe. Practice naming all of the countries, mountains and rivers. Practice until you can name them all without looking at your notes.

  • Label and color the new maps that Mme Fischer gave to you.

  • Make a list of all of the countries we studied in Western Europe. Give their names in French and English.

     

Unité 1: Numbers 0-20 spelling

  • Make flashcard for the numbers 0-20.  Put the numeral on one side and spell the word out in French on the other side.  Practice with your flashcards until you can look at any numeral in the deck and be able to spell the number.  When you practice with your flashcards spell out each number that you practice on a sheet of paper, don't just say it outloud.


Unité 1: Number 0-20 listening quiz

  • Count 0-20 to your parent. Bring a note from your parent to show that you completed this task.

 

Unité 1: Alphabet listening quiz

  • Go to my website, find Unité 1A, click on the video of the alphabet. Listen to the alphabet and repeat after the speaker. Repeat 5 times.

  • Repeat the alphabet and accent marks to a parent. Bring a note from your parent to show that you completed this task.
